Get to Know…Tony!

This past summer we had the pleasure to welcome Tony to our team. He’s quickly become a super valuable member of our marketing intelligence team and a very friendly face around the office. Tony is personable and smart, so we’re lucky to call him a Vovian! Read on to learn more about Tony.

What is your role/what do you do at Vovia?

I’m a Marketing Intelligence Specialist. I develop and deliver analytic solutions for Vovia’s wide client roster. I work collaboratively with other Analysts, Media specialists, Digital specialists and Client Service team members to define and implement analytic strategies designed to track, measure, and deliver actionable insights in order to help our clients achieve their objectives.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I enjoy spending my time with my mom, and love outdoor activities with my friends such as hiking, camping and going for walks. We are living in a world with tons of distractions from social media, so I also usually spend time for myself reading or meditating.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.

I was born on a beautiful island where the internet and computers were a luxury for everyone, but I have a great parent who motivated me to become who I am today. I am always proud of where I was born since it was where my dream began. When I was a young boy, I loved cars and wanted to build cars. I collected boxes from the landfill and then built cars by measuring, carving and cutting them into small pieces and gluing them together. I repeated these steps to create a bus, a Toyota sedan car or even a truck. I think that was the turning point that helped me pursue technology.

What do you love/what are you most passionate about?

I love inspiring young people such as high school students who will be going to university, but they are struggling with how to choose a career. I have often told them that “you will never know what you really like/enjoy until you have experienced/did it”. Early 2017, I was honoured to be a public speaker of an event and talked with around 200 high school students in my high school. I am so happy if I have chances to share my knowledge and experience that will help or change people’s lives.

What is your favourite part about working at Vovia?

That is a hard question but there are so many great things about Vovia, however the people and the dog-friendly office are a few of my favourite things. Everyone at Vovia is kind, friendly, supportive and patient for all my questions or concerns. I love dogs and cats, so I am so glad and excited to see dogs play and run around the office.
