Sylwia Wenslaw
As a part of the Marketing Intelligence team, Sylwia's role as Analytics Specialist allows her to combine a passion for problem solving and continual learning with data analysis and interpretation. Always eager to expand her perceptions, you can often find this bibliophile's nose buried in a book, occasionally coming up for air to play a game of chess or to head out into the wilderness for some back-country camping.

What is your role at Vovia?
I am the newest addition to the Marketing Intelligence team, taking on the role of Analytics Specialist. This means I’m helping you make data-driven business decisions by pulling, analyzing, and visualizing your website and campaign results. 
What do you do in your spare time?
Well, I am secretly an 85 year-old lady on the inside – so in my spare time I like to read, play cribbage, and watch Jeopardy. Aside from that, I try to spend my free time taking full advantage of living so close to the mountains – hiking, back country camping, and snowshoeing are a few of my favourite outdoor pursuits, though I hope 2019 to be the year I finally tackle ice climbing!
It’s great to hear we have another outdoorsy team member! Now, tell us something about you that would surprise us.
I was quite the punk in my youth and had every hair colour you could possibly imagine – from pastel pink to neon yellow – and this was back when the dyes would leave permanent color stains on towels and pillows.
What do you love/what are you most passionate about?
Reading – weird I know – but I am a bibliophile at heart and I make sure I block off time in my day to read for at least an hour. Though the printed word is my favorite medium, I will still partake in audio and ebooks. A few of my favourite authors include Steven Pinker; his book, The Better Angels of Our Nature comes highly recommended by Bill Gates, Timothy Findley (an accomplished Canadian author and playwright) and Mary Shelley – the lady who wrote Frankenstein. I’ve read them all!
What is the best part about working at Vovia?
For myself, it’s Vovia’s unwavering commitment to its values. We are a diverse team with experience and talent in so many areas and industries that there are endless opportunities to learn and grow. I like that everyone is extremely willing and open to sharing what they know, which is pretty easy when we have an open-concept office! I have been here for just a couple months and I’ve only just begun to chip away at the iceberg of collective knowledge. I know there will be lots more to learn during my days at Vovia!
