What is your role at Vovia?
I am a Digital Media Specialist at Vovia. My job is all about understanding our client’s marketing needs and crafting digital marketing strategies that hit the mark. Whether it’s brand awareness, leads, sales, or ROAS, I manage and execute campaigns from start to finish to ensure our clients get the results they’re looking for.
What do you do in your spare time?
I absolutely love being around people, whether it’s at a bar, watching a game, or enjoying the great outdoors with a group. Even though I’ve only been in Calgary for six months, I’ve made so many friends here—thanks to the incredibly friendly Calgarians! I’m also a huge fan of EDM and house music. Calgary has some amazing festivals, and I got to see my all-time favourite supergroup, Swedish House Mafia, live this summer. That’s a core memory for me!
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.
Back in college, I used to be a bartender. I was dual majoring in Hospitality and Business Management, and bartending was a fun way to make money and learn hospitality on the job as a 19-year-old. Plus, it was a blast!
What do you love most/what are you most passionate about?
I’m passionate about organizing Meetup events. I currently own and manage two social groups in Calgary with over 200 members and co-host multiple other Meetup groups. These groups are all about connecting new immigrants, people in their 20s and 30s, and organizing trips and outdoor activities. We reach over 1000+ Calgarians every month now.
What is the best part about working at Vovia?
The people! They’re energetic, warm, and friendly. Vovia prioritizes its people above all else, which is clear in its amazing team retention and positive work culture. I get incredible support from my supervisors and feel constantly inspired by my talented colleagues. Working and brainstorming with them is a real joy.
Shout out to the dogs of Vovia too! 🐶
Favourite quote:
“Peace is a lie, there is only passion”
As a Star Wars fan, I always found the Sith more compelling than the Jedi (come at me!). I reject the idea of personal or inner peace as desirable or attainable because I see it as suppressing our true potential and strength. Instead, I believe passion, emotions, and desire drive us to achieve greatness, hence this quote from Star Wars.
