Get to know… Julia!
What is your role at Vovia?
I am a media buyer. My job involves purchasing advertising space for our clients, planning and reporting on campaign performance. The most exciting part – I get to see the ads we booked in real life. It’s awesome to see our work and know that we’re making an impact. Overall, it’s a fun role that keeps me engaged with what we do!
What do you do in your spare time?
I love watching Friends (for the 20th time) and read classic literature. Most of all, I love hanging out with my cat. Sometimes we even go for walks so she can explore and sniff all kinds of plants/grass. When the weather is nice, I enjoy playing tennis, even though I am not the best at it – what counts is having fun and putting in the effort.
Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.
I lived for three months in a small town in Louisiana called Bossier City. During my time there, I encountered all sorts of wildlife right on the streets—armadillos, snakes, and even alligators! It was definitely an experience I won’t forget!
What do you love/what are you most passionate about?
I am very passionate about traveling and learning about other ways of life. Whenever I go somewhere I always try to talk to local people to see their perspective and maybe adopt it into my own life (particularly cooking). One of my craziest travel adventures was climbing the “not-so-legal” Stairway to Heaven in Oahu, Hawaii. I’m so glad I did it before it got torn down. Also, I collect Christmas ornaments that signify something connected to the country/city I traveled to, so later in life my Christmas tree can tell the tale of my journeys.
What is the best part about working at Vovia?
Definitely the people and an opportunity to be constantly learning new things. I love that everyone shares new things they found whether it’s connected to the industry or the latest show they are watching. We’ve got the best team!
