What is your role at Vovia?

I am an Analytics Specialist, which means I spend all day in tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager making sure our client’s data looks healthy and our campaign tracking is working like it should be. I also help turn out amazing reports each month that our Client Service team can then share with our clients to help them make strategic decisions about their marketing direction. Brooke Boser

How did you end up in Analytics?

My brain was born to analyze. That’s just how it is. Throughout my career, I have taken on roles such as Data Analyst, Business Analyst, and Financial Analyst, but after transitioning my career into marketing a few years back, I just kept feeling a pull back to the numbers. Luckily, there’s a demand for people who love looking at data, love learning regular expression and JavaScript, and love making all sorts of calculations in spreadsheets. This is my home.

What do you love about your job?

Learning and trying new things! I’m addicted to learning, so being in this space is very rewarding for that. Things are changing all of the time. There are always new tools or techniques to learn and try out. All of that and playing with numbers and spreadsheets all day makes my heart happy. I also love working with everyone here at Vovia. I laugh multiple times a day and feel like I’m part of a very special team, which does great work for our clients.

What do you do when you are not working?

Most of my time outside of work is spent running after my 2 year old. He’s at the point where running, climbing, jumping, throwing, and spinning are becoming really cool past times, so it makes for some interesting moments. Besides that, I love to read! I’m on book 7 of 24 for my goal this year. I also love to travel. I can’t wait until my son can entertain himself longer than 5 minutes so that we can take a flight somewhere. I also love all things sports, including hockey – Go Flames Go!

I almost made it to the Olympics! I played softball for 17 years and during that time I travelled extensively across Canada and the United States playing tournaments. I attended school in the US on a softball scholarship and was amongst some of the last picks for the Athens 2004 Olympic team. Unfortunately, I just hit burn-out too soon and had to dial it back. I put down the glove and walked away forever. It’s too bad, though – Beijing 2008 would have been my year!
