Get to Know… Michelle!
How did you end up at Vovia?
Once upon a time, I worked client side for several years with Tim Hortons, and at a handful of shopping centres. Through this experience, I picked up a passion for branding and enjoyed the challenge of sharing the brand’s story through memorable creative and advertising, and through fostering and nurturing relevant partnerships.
As my passion for media grew, I decided it was time to move over to agency side where I could do more of what I love. As a Media Planner & Buyer, my role is to connect with the client, understand their objectives, then identify the most relevant, effective, and well integrated advertising mediums to reach those goals. Of course, I can’t do this by myself! I am surrounded by a very smart team who provide input and insight according to their specialty, experience, and new discoveries. There is constant learning in this house, which makes it a great one to live in!
What is the best part of your job?
I laugh everyday. You can’t beat that! You have to enjoy what you do, and a big part of that is the place you do it in. Vovia has the fun factor dialed in. It’s not just one thing in particular though. It’s a little bit of everything – my colleagues and their jokes, Throw Back Thursday music, puppy love, the never ending supply of bananas…. unless of course it’s Thursday and all the bananas have been eaten!
What do you like most about Vovia?
What I like most is telling people that I work with Vovia. I am proud to be part of such a reputable and respected team. With all that support behind me, I can confidently build strong relationships with industry and advertising partners that in turn add value to the service we provide to our clients.
And I can be me! Nobody thinks it is odd when I bust out the dance moves in my chair, but instead, they join in! That’s what it’s all about.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love decorating! I absolutely pour over decor magazines, and jump at the chance to visit showhomes. Chintz & Company is a happy place of mine. I touch and smell everything, and am constantly inspired by the eclectic textures, colors, cushions, unique furniture and decor. Perfect place to get lost and dream a little.
