Get to Know… Mayank!

What is your role at Vovia? 

I’m a Search Engine Optimization & Implementation Specialist, which means that I spend my time analyzing websites in order to improve their visibility in Google search results. I work on a combination of Search Engine Optimization, Marketing Automation & Conversion Rate Optimization projects. My day to day tasks include technical site audits, keyword research, devising content strategies & optimizing digital assets for Vovia’s wide client roster.

What do you do in your spare time?

I am an avid lan gamer and love playing counterstrike. I am the sniper of the team and quite a skillful player.

Back during my college days, I was determined to compete at the World Cyber Games and used to practice up to 16 hours daily. However, gaming being the road less taken, I was pushed towards completing my engineering and getting a ‘real’ job. Seeing my old clan still does bring up a smile.

I love travelling and riding bikes too. I have always loved motorbikes more than cars and indulge in street races once a while 😀

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people.

I am an adrenaline junkie! This not being restricted to adventure sports or stunts – I have a constant need for urgency, even panic to get me through the day. I am always on the lookout for that feeling of thrill, my next adventure, the next destination. I have strolled in forests during the dark, studied 15 mins before examinations, gone paragliding and river rafting, wrapped a python around my neck (yes that was super creepy) just to experience the thrill!

What do you love/what are you most passionate about?

I love ‘bringing in change’. Be it any organization that I join or any activity I take up; I strive to create a valuable impact. I am super passionate about marketing and advertising, and love creating branding campaigns involving both offline and online activities for startups. I also teach SEO on weekends to professionals from different verticals.

What is the best part about working at Vovia?

The flat organizational structure at Vovia allows us to reach out to anyone for advice across the company and benefit from their experiences. Also, the team here is super helpful and everyone ensures that colleagues across multiple locations work together as a single unit. It’s like being a part of a big family. Everyone is treated on par and expected to do their roles without much heavy handedness.

Internal research is given high priority and it is the need of the hour as the digital landscape is constantly evolving. This helps me stay up to date with the latest trends and helps me grow as a marketer.
