What is your role/what do you do at Vovia?

I am the newest Account Coordinator at Vovia. Alongside the Account Managers and Directors, my responsibilities include liaising between clients and our internal team, meeting and communicating with clients on their campaign needs, and aiding in coordinating, delegating, and executing campaigns. Additionally, I help create client materials such as estimates, briefs, reports as well as oversee the execution of various internal processes.

What do you do in your spare time?

I have a 6-month-old Golden Retriever named Walter who has been keeping me very busy these days! When I am not walking or hanging out with him, I can be found at the rink, pitch, diamond, or golf course. And while I hate to admit how much of my day I spend thinking about food, I love to cook and try new restaurants in the city. On the weekends you can probably find me on a patio, scoping out new foodie hot spots in Calgary, or using my friends as guinea pigs for new recipes I’m trying.

Tell us something about yourself that would surprise people?

This winter will be my 18th season playing ringette, and I don’t see myself quitting anytime soon! I was lucky enough to play on the University of Calgary Dinos ringette team and bring home a national championship title during the 2018/19 season. I am always surprised when I meet people how little they know about ringette, as it is such a huge part of my life. However, I love to teach people about the sport and am very passionate about coaching as well.

What do you love/what are you most passionate about?

I have a huge passion for lifelong learning, especially in the field of human rights. A big part of my degree was centered around human rights-based courses and I have such a passion for that subject matter. I was lucky enough to stay on the reading lists from many of my professors in University and I try to stay as current as possible, especially within that academic discipline. I volunteer for the HIV Community Link, and I think that this has given me an amazing community to apply the knowledge garnered through not only my formal education but my commitment to continued learning.

What is your favorite part about working at Vovia?

Definitely the culture! In the short time I have been with Vovia, I have been amazed by the support, kindness and understanding displayed by everyone on the team. I love the commitment to keep the team connected through team builders and am excited to be a part of more of them soon!
