Denise is a small town girl with big city ambition. When she's not roping in the strategy on her client's digital campaigns, you can find her in rural Alberta taking in some rodeo.

Get to know… Denise!

What makes Vovia different from other places you’ve worked at?

I’d have to say the culture! The office is filled with incredibly bright people who are very passionate about what they do and the clients that they do it for. The team is committed to staying on top of the most recent changes in our field and regularly shares any new developments with the whole office. There aren’t any silos and everyone works as a true team to ensure our success, and that of our clients. The kicker? We do all of that, while still having a great time everyday!

And, I have to admit that the candy bar and free coke makes my sweet tooth pretty happy as well 🙂

Denise!

Would you rather teleport or time travel?

Oh, teleport hands down!! It would open up the ability to travel anywhere at any time! The things you could see and do in the evenings and weekends without being stuck in traffic or at airports. You could actually manage to visit friends and family all around the world, even if it was just for drinks or dinner. But hopefully this isn’t something everyone is able to do or I’d be afraid that the congestion at all the places I’d go would be so horrible I’d have to quit travelling altogether haha!

What’s the most interesting part of your job?

The digital world is still fairly new to me, so I’d have to admit that I honestly didn’t know there were so many ways to reach a consumer online. And, we are able to track all of them! The insight you can gain about consumer behaviour and being able to translate that insight back into actionable tactics that drive real results is mind blowing.

Who would play you in a movie of your life?

If they are going to make a movie about my life, I had better start having more car chases, espionage, and love affairs! (That way it won’t be so horribly boring for folks!) As for who would play me, I’d have to say Orange is the New Black actress Taylor Schilling. It only seems fair as I went as Piper for Halloween last year…

If you could be famous, what would it be for?

Would it be completely random to say I’d love to be famous for owning a large number of historical buildings worldwide (of course this would be after I won a lottery… or six). Owning at least one in each country would be ideal! I find I am fascinated by the difference in architecture that is found in the castles, fortresses, palaces, churches, monasteries, mosques, and temples you find all over the world. The differences in culture and religion translates directly into how they were built and decorated, which is absolutely fascinating to me.

BUT, if I didn’t win the lottery enough times to afford to buy and maintain all of those incredible buildings, having the largest personal collection of antique books would also be an option.

If you could trade places with anyone for a week, who would it be?

I’d probably trade with a travel writer. Your job is to see the world and then tell people all about it. Sounds pretty fantastic to me!
